As an important member of the clinical laboratory team, a phlebotomist must have the required proficiency to do the job right.
Phlebotomy Technician Class is a 2 week/30-hour program plus labs. Students work with both hands-on training on manikins with venipuncture and classroom instruction for Specimen Collection skills:
- Venipuncture Equipment, Routine Venipuncture, and Venipuncture Complications
- Dermal Puncture
- Blood Collection in Special Populations
- Special Collections and Procedures
- Special Nonblood Collection Procedures
Dignity Nursing School, Inc. will train Phlebotomists to work in different medical settings such as:
- Blood Banks
- Doctors’ Offices
- Home Health Agencies
- Hospitals
- Laboratories
- Research Clinics
- and more
Each student will complete a minimum of 50 successful venipuncture procedures and 10 successful capillary sticks by the last day of class. The National Phlebotomy Continuing Educational (NPCE) exam is scheduled on the last day of class.
