Nurses are in demand nationally, and we are committed to the delivery of Quality, Competent, and Credentialed Caregivers! We are purposed to combat this healthcare shortage crisis by equipping students with personalized pathways into healthcare! If you are ready to join the fight and serve, we look forward to developing a tailored pathway to your success!
Become BLS-certified through our BLS course.
In partnership with the American Heart Association (AHA), we follow guidelines in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. The Basic Life Support Certification is issued through AHA valid for 2 years.
Our Basic Life Support utilizes a scenario-based approach to enhance student's critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This approach propitiates optimal patient outcomes.
This Continuing Education Course is consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC covering breathing and cardiac emergencies, IE. CPR, AED, and obstructed airways for adult, child, and infant patients.
The Nurse Aide (NA) Course is a 4-week program that provides entry-level nursing skills. This Nurse Aide program is regulated by Georgia's Alliant Health Solutions. After the successful completion the Nurse Aide program, students are granted access to sit for the Georgia's State Examination to obtain licensure as Certified Nurse Aide.

The Practical Nurse is critical to all healthcare teams! They rely on Clinical Judgment, obtained from Medical Training in direct patient care. Practical Nurses are the intermediate between Doctors and Registered Nurses for patients' well-being.
Our students participate in Care Planning, Plan-of-Care Implementation, and Clinical Judgment as they evaluate the role and responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse in the Clinical Rotation setting. Our Clinical Rotations range from Northside Hospital, WellStar Medical Facilities, Bethesda Clinic, and Cartersville Health/Rehab Centers, to name a few.
Our students experience intensive hands-on development and preceptor training. The effectiveness of the training is measured and evaluated through a partnership with the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). ATI offers a private coach-to-student evaluator who assesses the students' Clinical Judgment and Critical Thinking abilities development throughout the program. These measurements are an effective tool that has immensely contributed to the success of our Practical Nurse program.

As an important member of the clinical laboratory team, a phlebotomist must have the required proficiency to do the job right
Our Phlebotomy Technician Class is a 4-week/78-hour program including labs. Students will conduct venipuncture student-to-student, on High Fidelity Simulation. Mannequins and inside of our Virtual Reality Simulators. Phlebotomy Technician works in different Medical Facilities such as:
Upon arrival at the health care facility, the practical nurse checks-in with the nurse previously on duty. The nurse from the previous shift will bring the next nurse up to speed. They will exchange any special information or instructions regarding the patients they are caring for, which will help them plan the shift by determining which patients need more attention.
MAKING ROUNDSBecause of the personal nature of this profession, it is very important that the nurse make contact with his or her patients at the beginning of a shift. At this time, they can check on all patients, say hello and ask how they are feeling. Shortly after greeting patients they will meet with the RN or doctor who will brief them on changes since their last shift.
HELPING WITH EVERYDAY NEEDSMuch of the LPN’s job is to help with everyday needs of the patient. Some patients need the most basic of care such as bathing, eating, and changing clothes. At in-home care and nursing homes an LPN must have compassion and the drive to nurture their charges. This will help with the repetitive nature of personalized care.
SPECIALIZED MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND CHARTSA practical nurse is trained to perform a wide range of medical procedures depending on the patient’s needs. These specialized procedures may include inserting a catheter, dressing a wound, drawing blood for tests, or simply administering medication. With this type of work, an LPN can expect no two days to be the same as the needs of their patients are always changing. A large portion of the typical day is consumed with monitoring charts and using the time in-between to check on patients and review paperwork.
END OF SHIFTThe end of the shift is much like the beginning – a meeting with the next shift LPN. During their meeting, the nurses will make sure that patient charts are as updated as possible. They will also check-in with the patient one last time to make sure they have everything they need. It is important that this transition from nurse to nurse goes smoothly.
All applications will be reviewed during a scheduled enrollment period and a determination will be sent via e-mail. Please, contact DNS at 770-529-6801, if you have not received a response from the Admission Office within two (2) weeks prior to the beginning date of the course.
A formal admission letter into the Nursing Program and clinical courses will be offered upon successful completion of the requirements.
